In Memory of a Good Ol’ Boy

On this day in 1996, a litter of Hush Puppy descendants was born in High Point, North Carolina.  For roughly 11.5 years, one dear boy from said litter brought sweet, sometimes grumpy affection to our lives.

It’s only fitting that after the weekend remembrance (scroll down one post), our Hooey Hound is shown here with his most favorite human in the whole wide world.  Thank you sweet man for each and every glare, cuddle and preciously rare kiss.  We miss you – especially when Sissy moos her strange howl, counter surfs, drags me off in pursuit of a bird, squirrel, etc.   You made us devotees to  the basset breed, and you were almost always a gentle gentleman.

What a nice picture of the “men of the house”. Maybe Mark needs another “man” in the house again!!! 😉 I am sure Gretch and Sissy would love to have a brother!!!

What a great shot! The power of the preserved memory in photos is awesome. We only wish we had taken more and more of our dogs from the past.

What a lovely idea to do a pre-Memorial Day pet memorial day. It’s probably a good thing we don’t have a blog; mama would have filled it up with the dozens of Danes and Dane-mixes she’s shared her life with, and a half-dozen cats besides. They were all dearly loved and are greatly missed. Your two boys were most handsome and were clearly much loved, too.
