Beachy Thorsday!

Happy Thorsday!   We had a big time at the beach over Thanksgiving and beyond.   The weather was warm, so Mama took us for lots of LONG walks on the beach, and I – Gretchen Greer – even got an unsolicited training session from a nice lady on the beach.

I'm bird hunting and Sissy's dodging waves...

Friday and Saturday there were SO MANY people and dogs on the beach.   As regular readers might guess, I don’t enjoy that.  Sissy does, but I prefer days like Monday when we’re the only dogs on the beach for miles.  Leaves me free to hunt birds, which is my favorite beach activity.

Dadaw even took us out to the ocean one night, which was BIG FUN.  Mama wasn’t happy, but no one got hurt, so she got over it.  She didn’t get many photos though because for some reason, she won’t take her camera out when just the three of us gals are on our big walks.

We also had a BIG visit with basically blogless Auntie Sus.  We lurvers her!  She sits in the floor and lets both of us crawl all over her and kiss her and kiss her.  She also brought treats and her Cory’s favorite toy.  I liked the toy and there’s a rumor that Santa is bringing me one.  Sissy isn’t much for a mental challenge; she tried to just chew the sliders out of the way to get to the treats.  Silly, impatient dog…

Do you like puzzle toys?

We really think we would love tow walk and run and do zooms on the beach, but we don’t live anywhere near one. We wish mom and dad still lived on the East coast.

Cool toy, we hope Santa brings one for you. Maybe then Sissy will want to have a competition with you.

Looks like everyone had a good time. 🙂 Did the unsolicited training session go well? Micro wants to know if you caught any birds. He bets they’d taste salty. 😉

Gretchen, it is fun to get sand between your toes! I’m glad you had a fun weekend with plenty of long walks on the beach.

[…] shared her thoughts on our beach time.   I’m pretty sure Sissy’s thoughts center around shrimp tails with […]

We like going to the beach too – but Mom doesn’t take us very often – something about wet stinky dogs in the car on the way home.

Beau loves puzzle toys. Lucy only likes noisy. Jessica bought her an “unbreakable” toy last night and she had big fun with it. This morning someone killed it – not sure who but Beau came into the kitchen with fluff in his mouth. hrmph. g

I’m really honored that you still call it Thorsday. I miss our boy every day, and am so touched that you honor him this way. I do hope you girls get that great looking toy; maybe Sissy will learn patience (but probably not when she’s hungry)!

Your beach is so gorgeous! We sure wish we could join you!
We’ve never had one of those puzzle games before.

    Love ya lots

I’ve always wanted to get one of those for my dogs. I think some would figure it out easily, some would just give up on it and some would cheat, like Sissy. Maybe one of these days I’ll give it a try.

We’re with Sissy on that dumb treat-hiding toy! Mama got us one of those and we managed to tear it up in the first outing. The nice manufacturer did send us a ‘sorry the toy sucked’ stuffie that we still have, though, after mama complained. We suspect that’s a good toy for smaller dogs, not for dogs like Sissy and us with Jaws of Doom and Paws With Claws that were designed to burrow in the earth.

We were expecting to read all about your unsolicited training session. What happened? Was it a positive experience?

I certainly do NOT like puzzle toys. Apparently they are good for mentals and they just make me insane and I push it all around the estate to no avail. Idiot PeeWee with his pointy snooter is apparently better at nom extraction from the blasted things.

    Sounds like a perfect getaway!

Gosh, you sure are lucky to live near the ocean! We live in the boring Midwest and I have never even seen the ocean!
