We HATE Cancer

Happy Thorsday to you!   Whether you knew Thor or not, you need to pop over to his mom’s blog and admire him on her seasonal header.   Sniff, sniff…  we miss you, big guy.

We are very happy fur-girls by nature, but this has been a truly awful week in our doggy-online world.  Two of our best doggy friends were diagnosed with terminal cancers.  We’re not naming names… their moms aren’t blogging and they aren’t our stories to tell, but if you want to sling drool, cross paws, light candles, pray or whatever for H and J and their devastated packs, that would be fabulous.

Handsome Fred

Cancer is horrible, rotten, no-good stuff.  It took Fred from the woods, also rather suddenly.  It’s been four years and then some and Mama still can’t write about it without misting up, even though Sissy probably wouldn’t be here if timing hadn’t been what it was.

Sorry to be such a downer today, but that’s the problem with having lots of doggy friends…  We all suffer when a good dog is sick, but two in the same circle of friends in the same week?!

thanks Chan. It has been a terrible week. just cruel cruel cruel. but right now Henry is resting comfortably on his bed, and every so often he opens those beautiful brown eyes, and locks them on me, and then lulls back to sleep.

Been praying my heart out for both H & J. Just love them both to death – and I’m happy to say I’ve met them both and they are too sweet to deal with something so horrible and tragic. It’s not fair at all. g

The Altadena Hiker lost her boxer, Phoebe to bone cancer this fall, and the Rottrovers lost their Gizmo. They both went in about 2 weeks. I cried for them both. A lot. Thanks for your mention of Thor in our header.

We don’t think we know H and J, maybe we do, but makes no difference. Cancer is evil – we are so sorry to know more are suffering because of it. Our hearts go out to them. They will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Losing a friend is never easy, regardless of how many legs and whether or not they had a tail! Best wishes and prayers for all.

We just found your blog due to your title in your header. We are sorry for all our blogging friends that have that horrible Cancer monster. We do not know H and J but we keep them in our thoughts and prayers. Our family was devastated in September when our 7 year old basset hound Cleo was diagnosed on Sept 1 with cancer and we lost her 19 days later on Sept 20. We miss her every day so we know how much this horrible disease impacts us. Sniffs, The HoundDogs

I have been lucky to only have had one dog with cancer.!! That was way back in the 80’s.
I’ll go by and say we care!!!

So, so sorry!! Max and I will have a head-between-paws day with loving thoughts for H and J. You are good friends to care so much and that is truly what one needs in a time of crisis! I feel the same about canine heart conditions because my Mommy lost a fur friend to a heart problem shortly before I arrived as her Christmas gift.
    Hugs and smooches,

Lots of love and hugs going out to H & J. 😦 Cancer is a wicked and unforgiving disease that absolutely terrifies me. It’s touched too close to home, too many times.
