Pop, crackle, stinky…

March 2012 012Some things smell better than others.

Gretchen Greer here…  Happy Thorsday!  It’s been a TRYING week in the woods.   On Tuesday, we had a power surge, and when things came back on, not everything worked and there were some AWFUL smells.  Mama and Dadaw were most upset about the not working parts, but Sissy and I didn’t like the smells or the sizzle-pops that accompanied the return of the electricity.

The surge protectors worked, even though they too need to be replaced.

Hope you’re not having too many storms and/or bad weather.  This head and humidity are messing up our walks too.  Hrmph.

GG – hope it’s not that lovely lotion that stinks. I think it almost sounds good enough to eat! Sorry about the icky smells. Hope Momma figures out how to walk you in the heat. Maybe cooling collars? g

Here in Texas it gets hotter than hell, I found that coats called swamp cooling vest from ruff wear are awesome. i am so sorry about the electrical issues, we havent had any storms here, its already in the high 90’s here sigh, we need rain as always though!

If I read right, it sounds like Mom only lost surge protectors during this… which means they did their job protecting the house. 🙂 Glad to hear… but sorry to hear about the storms. Thankfully we’ve only had rain…

That sounds like it was quite the frightening event. We have heat and humidity here too and the lovely threat of severe storms AGAIN – Phantom isn’t too happy.

We think it is going to be a long and stormy season.

    Stay safe.

Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

I hear you Gretchen girl! It is way to hot to walk here in Texas (93 today)! I can’t even enjoy my afternoon sun-bath or chasing a squirrel–way too hot!

I hate sizzle-pops too. And vacuum cleaners! Hope you and Sissy have a calm, peaceful weekend.

  8. Sue Says:

Oh if the bad smell is electrical, I hate it too. We had a stove burn out once and the smell was horrible. It made my teeth hurt.

  9. Mitch and Molly Says:

Electrical issues are not fun! We hope the dreary rainy weather ends soon for you and for us too! It’s too wet at our house!

    Love ya lots,
    Mitch and Molly

We have rain, rain and more rain. Our walks have been far and in between the rain drops. Sorry about your electrical issues, we have not had that problem yet but they say strong storms this weekend. I think it will be a good day to take a nap. Sniffs, The HoundDogs

We sure hope nothing expensive was ruined by the surge. You’re lucky the surge protectors worked; we’ve had friends who were not so lucky. If there’s thunder near, mama runs around and unplugs [almost] EVERYTHING that is plugged into the wall that she can. The stove, washer & microwave are directly wired and can’t be unplugged, unfortunately. And we confess mama does not unplug the fridge. So guess our big ticket items aren’t really protected, either.

You must be getting the storms that keep going south of us. We sure could use some rain – without the electrical surge.

Yay to Gg for slowly but surely overcoming her fear issues!
