Sad & Sweet Sevens

Mama’s favorite photo of Cooper (on the left), borrowed from Cooper’s mom

Gretchen Greer here.  Mama says it is a bittersweet day.  Today was her dad’s birthday, and the day Soot was born too.

We think it’s just plain sad.  We never got to meet Soot or Mama’s daddy, and we just heard that doggy bloggy pal Cooper went to lick that great dishwasher in the sky.  You might remember his mom… many of you visited her just a few days ago when her Tara cross the Rainbow Bridge too.  She and Emma are lost, as you might imagine…

To top it all off, it’s too hot to get Mama to take us on a mind-clearing walk.  Maybe Dadaw will fetch us all some ice cream!

How very sad for Cooper and Tara’s family. Sometimes life is just so unfair. We worry about Phantom with this awful heat we are having. Mom is very careful not to let him be outside too long and he has plenty of fresh water. But it has just been so relentlessly hot.

Soft woos and gentle hugs to your friend’s family.

Hope you get some ice cream.

Wow! what a lot of sadness on the 7th day of the 7th month. I’m rather sad that a wee JL baby didn’t arrive on the day to make it a bit better. And poor Dianne – my heart breaks for her. g

We remember your post about Tara when she was still being treated for cancer, but did not know she had crossed the Bridge. And now Cooper. We’re so very sorry for her mom and her sissy Emma. We left a message on Dianne’s blog to see if she would allow us to include Tara and Cooper in Our Rainbow Friends. But in case she isn’t checking her blog, would you mind emailing her when you feel she’s up to considering it and letting her know about Our Rainbow Friends? Thanks so much.

We’ve really been enjoying this relatively civilized weather this week. How about you?
